In 1971 Lipski started saving the pocket-sized sculptures he had been making since he was a child. They were first shown together at the Delahunty Gallery in Dallas in 1977. They were shown in New York at Artist's Space in 1978 and at M.o.M.A. in 1979. Portions of this ongoing work have been shown in galleries and museums across the country and in Europe, and are in the permanent collections of, among others, the Whitney Museum and The Menil Collection.
